Keypoint welcomes second Consulting Principal in 2026, senior Intellectual Property lawyer

Keypoint is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Goatcher as Consulting Principal, marking the firm’s second lateral hire for 2026. Andrew joins Keypoint from specialist intellectual property firm Wrays, bringing more than three decades of experience in complex commercial litigation and intellectual property law.

Andrew is an accomplished senior lawyer with an outstanding record advising and acting in high-stakes disputes involving patents, registered designs, trade marks and copyright, as well as matters involving allegations of misleading and deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law. His clients are across a range of industries including mining, manufacturing, agriculture, fashion, automotive, food and electronics.

Andrew’s distinguished career includes senior roles and partnerships with leading Australian firms including Griffith Hack, Cornwall Stodart and Allens. He is recognised by Best Lawyers in Australia and Doyle’s Guide for his proficiency in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters and has served as President of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).
